How many treatments are needed?

Typically, three treatments are required, spaced six weeks apart. However, the number of treatments depends on the severity of symptoms and the patient's response to the laser.

What are the side effects?

HOW DOES MONA LISA TOUCH WORK?

MonaLisa Touch is a vaginal laser treatment that uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) fractional laser to stimulate vaginal tissue regeneration. The laser delivers thousands of tiny beams of light to the vaginal wall, which destroys scar tissue and stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin, and blood vessels. This process improves the integrity of the vaginal tissue and restores lubrication.

Laser Treatment: The procedure takes place in our Redlands office.

You’ll take your pants and underwear off and recline on an exam table.
You’ll put a sheet or drape over your legs. Your feet will go in stirrups.
Your provider may numb your vaginal opening with a cream.
Your provider will insert a wand-like device into your vagina to begin treatment.

The device delivers tiny energy pulses into your vagina. It may feel like a vibration or a tiny prick — like the poke of a needle. Your provider will treat both the internal vaginal skin (where a tampon goes) and the skin at the opening of your vagina.

Post Treatment: Minimal downtime allows for a quick return to daily activities, with specific aftercare instructions provided to ensure optimal healing and results.
