Co2 Laser

SmartXide Tetra CO2 Laser by DEKA

Fractional Carbon Dioxide (CO2) lasers have historically been regarded as the gold standard for treating aging skin and have proven to show real improvement in wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, skin texture, skin tightening, balancing tone, and other blemishes.

The SmartXide Tetra CO2 laser is one of the newest and most advanced CO2 technologies available, with the ability to perform a broad range of treatments. We can easily select the precise power, density, and pulse durations needed to tailor and optimize treatments offering a variety of options from a Coolpeel® with mild redness to a fully ablative resurfacing treatment.

The Tetra CO2 is a one-of-a-kind CO2 laser for the treatment of wrinkles, acne scars, dark spots, sun spots, and more. For patients who are looking for total skin rejuvenation and real improvement in wrinkles, the DEKA pulse CO2 is a powerful laser.

The Smartxide Tetra CO2 Laser offers two types of treatments: CoolPeel & Smartxide Ablative CO2.

The difference between the 2 treatments is downtime (based on adjusted settings).  The Smartxide CO2 ablative treatment requires approximately 5 to 7 days of downtime, whereas the Coolpeel® is approximately 1 to 3 days of downtime, but requires multiple treatments to achieve the desired result.

CoolPeel® Treatment

CoolPeel® is an innovative way to safely, and comfortably, deliver the benefits of a traditional CO2 resurfacing treatment without downtime. By targeting only the superficial layer of skin tissue, damaged skin is removed, revealing younger and healthier-looking skin.

The CoolPeel® uses the exclusive H-Pulse: a high-peak-power short pulse that delivers a fully-ablative treatment without causing thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. With no thermal damage, downtime is significantly minimized while delivering impressive superficial skin resurfacing results, revealing healthier-looking skin.

The CoolPeel® improves:

  • The appearance of fine lines

  • Sun damage

  • Pore size

  • Skin texture

  • Skin elasticity

  • Acne scars

  • Pigmentation

  •

We recommend combining the Coolpeel® with radiofrequency microneedling treatments, like our RF Vivace Microneedling to maximize the release of growth factors that encourage collagen formation and create new, healthy cells. By combining both options you can achieve maximum benefit in the lower dermal tissues replacing lost volume with microneedling while resurfacing to improve fine lines and wrinkles, tone, texture, and pore size.

Smartxide CO2 Treatment

SmartXide is a fractional CO2 laser treatment that uses dermal optical thermolysis (aka DOT therapy) to treat skin conditions like wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, loss of elasticity, and acne scars. Traditional CO2 lasers are ablative, which means they remove the skin’s surface layer. They can be painful and require a week or more of downtime. The SmartXide laser is considered “micro-ablative”; it creates thousands of microscopic perforations, in a dot pattern. There’s no damage to the surrounding skin, so the area heals faster. It also stimulates collagen production more quickly.

This treatment is more aggressive than the CoolPeel treatment and has incredible results with some downtime.

Because SmartXide doesn’t go as deep as traditional CO2 lasers, the treatment requires only topical anesthesia and isn’t considered painful—although you might feel some minor discomfort, often described as a stinging sensation. You’ll also receive protective eyewear.

Who is a good candidate?

Skin types 1-3 are best suited for this treatment or lighter skin types. People with more wrinkles & sun damage will benefit most from this treatment.
