GSM is a condition that causes symptoms like vaginal dryness and pain during sex. The MonaLisa Touch can help make sexual intimacy more comfortable. It works by healing the tissue lining of your vagina, restoring its moisture. MonaLisa Touch is an alternative to estrogen-based therapies like creams, lubricants or medication. It’s ideal for people who either can’t or prefer not to use estrogen therapy as treatment for GSM.
How Does Mona Lisa Touch Work?
MonaLisa Touch is a vaginal laser treatment that uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) fractional laser to stimulate vaginal tissue regeneration. The laser delivers tiny beams of light to the vaginal wall, which destroys scar tissue and stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin, and blood vessels. This process improves the integrity of the vaginal tissue and restores lubrication.

Consultation:
Initially, our experts conduct a thorough consultation so you can learn more about the MonaLisa Touch procedure and get more of your questions answered determine if you are a candidate for treatment.

Laser Treatment:
The procedure takes place in our Redlands office. • You’ll take your pants and underwear off and recline on an exam table. • You’ll put a sheet or drape over your legs. Your feet will go in stirrups. • Your provider may numb your vaginal opening with a cream. • Your provider will insert a wand-like device into your vagina to begin treatment. The device delivers tiny energy pulses into your vagina. It may feel like a vibration. Your provider will treat both the internal vaginal skin and the skin at the opening of your vagina.

Post Treatment:
After the procedure, Aquaphor is applied to the area. Minimal downtime allows for a quick return to daily activities, with specific aftercare instructions provided to ensure optimal healing and results. You need three treatments spaced about six weeks apart. Your provider may recommend annual treatments to maintain relief of your symptoms.

Results:
Improvement can be seen in the days following your initial treatment, with best results visible after your third. Many women agree that they notice relief from vaginal dryness after just one treatment.
